About our Scout Group...

Our research shows that we are probably the oldest surviving registered Scout Group in England. We registered as a Scout Troop on 5 Feb 1908 just a few weeks after registration began. We are currently researching the history of our group and will add a little more about it to the website at a later date.

At 1st Bury Scout Group we have Beaver Colony for children aged 6 to 8 years old, a Cub Pack for children aged 8 to 10 1/2 years and a Scout Troop for children aged 10 1/2 to 14 years old.

As 1st Bury will be celebrating their own Centenary in 2008 we also hope to hold our own celebrations and a reunion for all people connected to our Scout Group in the past and present. If you are a former member of the Scout Group we would love to hear from you. Please drop us a line using our Enquiries Form.
